It is my experience that parents of Spanish students are often at a loss for how to help their students succeed in Spanish. My first response is always TRAVEL! (and take me with you as a translator.) But I understand that for most of us that is not feasible. The good news is that authentic interaction with the language is very easy to access! Encourage your student to listen to Hispanic music, watch a movie with subtitles, or try to order his/her food in Spanish. Exposure to lots of language fosters enthusiasm and recognition!!
